Dave Williams, President (Police Assistant Chief, Retired)
Dave spent 25 years working with the Portland Police Bureau, and retired after serving a number of those years as the Assistant Chief of Police. Dave earned his Bachelor of Science in Law Enforcement, from Southern Oregon University, and his Masters in Justice Administration from the University of Portland. He was the 1992 national recipient of the Police Executive Research Forum's Gary P. Hayes Award for outstanding initiatives in improving police services. Dave was formerly an adjunct criminal justice professor for the University of Portland. He has served as an independent consultant assisting communities around the country in developing their police departments. Dave and his wife Lois have been married for 39 years. Both are committed to strengthening family relationships of first responders and assisting first responders in establishing balance with their demanding careers
Chris Green, CEO and Executive Director
Chris graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biblical Studies, Theology and Pastoral Studies from Multnomah Bible College.. Chris served several years as the college pastor at Sunset Presbyterian Church. He also served over a decade in the emergency services as a reserve officer and chaplain with a number of police and fire agencies. He worked with the Ministers and Police Program as the liaison to pastors and ministries with Portland Police Chief Mark Kroeker. He worked as the administrator of two different medical centers before coming to Responder Life full-time in 2005. Chris is married to Kristy and they have four sons, Cameron, Kellan, Keenan, and Cai.
Michael Straup, Chaplain
Mike graduated from Michigan State University in 1968 and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the USAF. Mike served one tour in Vietnam flying the C123K and earned the Distinguished Flying Cross and five Air Medals. Subsequently he served as an Air Force Flight Instructor in the T-37B, a Forward Air Controller in the Michigan Air Guard, and a combat rescue helicopter pilot with the 304th Rescue Squadron in Portland. Mike also graduated from Canadian Theological Seminary with his Master of Divinity in 1978. Mike and his wife Martie have been married for 42 years and have five children and nine grandchildren.
