Our Services

Training Insiders
Insider’s Training is designed to start the movement. By locating willing responders already in the culture, we can begin to make them Insider’s, men and women willing and able to help their fellow first responders have strong and lasting marriages.

We begin with an intensive 12 week series dealing with world view, using Focus on the Family’s Truth Project
This is followed by training dealing with marriage and family issues ranging from: Strengthening couples, healthy communication, raising children, and finances.

Most training is done using DVD’s series, books in small group settings.

Some training will involve regional conferences or online training.

Online Resource Center

In December 2008 we will launched ResponderLife.com a first of its kind web site, directed to responder families. This project was undertaken with the help of Focus on the Family to provide resources to responder families to help them thrive in these high stress careers

In 2009 we will begin an intense media campaign (targeting radio, streaming, pod casting, and video) aimed at providing great resources to promote healthy marriages and families. The site is a work in progress and will continue to grow with more and more resources.

The Family Escape

In 2007 Responder Life developed a partnership with Young Life to begin hosting retreats for responder families called the Family Escape.

The purpose is to provide an escape from the world that destroys these families, and to present a message of hope, that will sustain their family and strengthen their relationship in Christ.
Since starting the Family Escape we have hosted over a thousand men, women and children.

Public Education

One of our main tasks, as we embark on this mission, is to educate the public on what first responder’s in their local community deal with. With a divorce rate well over 80%, we hope to help the public understand the toll the career is taking on these families.

The reality is, we do not hesitate to call on these men and women everyday when we are in crisis. We often think responders are like super heroes with no real problems of their own. That is not the case, they are human beings that face a lot of tragedy, more than most. The reality is they sacrifice their families to save ours.

Responder Life is committed to letting everyone know that very reality.

Responder Life Local

Responder Life wants to set up local offices in cities across North America that will allow staff to be in each city. Most of Responder Life’s staff are volunteers, in fact most are Responder Life Insiders.

The purpose is to establish the freedom for each local Responder Life area to develop programs and services designed to meet the needs of first responder families in that area. Examples: Fellowship Groups, Women’s and Men’s Groups, other small groups.
